You just download their Linux archive file, right-click it and extract it which creates a new "virgoftp" folder, give yourself permission to run the "virgoftp" script file and perhaps the Java jar files underneath the Lib subfolder. I would recommend installing Java 8 and making it the default. It is Java based and requires installing the Java runtime and or development version, not sure if it requires Oracle's Java or if it would work with open source Java.
